Tomorrow 2013 Conference

The future of democracy in Israel is on the agenda at Tomorrow 2013, a one day conference initiated by several individuals as a response to their growing concern over the current cultural climate in Israel, citing the exclusion of women, homophobia, and expressions of hatred aimed at the skeptic/atheist community as indicators of a threat to the secular/democratic character of the State of Israel.

Who said geeks don’t have social lives? This year’s ICON TLV festival was attended by hundreds of science fiction and fantasy enthusiasts, all of whom were eager to watch movies, hear lectures and participate in events organized by the festival’s management. The foyer of the Tel Aviv Cinematheque suddenly filled with geeks of all ages, and those who want to be geeks.
