Yes, we have to say goodbye for the summer…but I hope Balabasta will be back next July, because it is so much fun! I always love the shuk, the Machne Yehuda market is one of my favorite places in Jerusalem.  Balabasta brings unexpected wonder into the myriad scents, colors, movement and rush of people: living flowers cascading from balconies, giant birds, Michael Greilsammer on a rooftop playing the violin, and just around the corner, a narrow alley becomes wide enough to embrace a world of people gathered around Nino Bitton and his band, playing music that makes your feet dance and your heart break.

Balabasta is part of the Jerusalem Season of Culture, Balabasta artistic directors are Kobi Frig and Ido Levitt, and Itay Mautner is JSOC artistic director.
