Batsheva Dancers Create: Surrealism in Alaska

Expect a surge of energy and creativity in Surealism in Alaska – an independent evening of dance created, performed and produced by the dancers of Batsheva. 11 dance pieces will premiere on May 30, 2012, created by: Luc Jacobs, Chen-Wei Li, Iyar Elezra, Shahar Binyamini, Iaara Moses, Eri Nakamura, Bobbi Smith, Ian Robinson, Guy Shomroni and Stav Struz. Recommended!

The program includes:

Peering from the Bent Tip of a Grassblade – video & choreography Ian Robinson; dancers: Matan David, Doug Letheren, Rachel Osborne, Ian Robinson; music: Arthur Lyman, Basso Profondo, Alfred Schnittke & E. Tevares.

Arrowed – text & direction Bobbi Smith; performers: Rebecca Hytting, Shamel Pitts.

ZIJI – choreography Luc Jacobs; performers: Iaara Moses; music: Chromatics; costumes: Iaara Moses and Luc Jacobs.

Lobes – choreography by Stav Struz; performers: Ori Moshe Ofri, Stav Struz.

Scarlet – choreography by Iaara Moses; performer: Doron Raz; music: Ennio Morricone; costumes: Iaara Moses and Doron Raz.

Black Box – choreography and performance by Chen-Wei Li

Dinner – choreography by Eri Nakamura; performed by Iyar Elezra, Shahar Binyamini; music: Sergei Rachmaninoff, JohannSebastian Bach & Guiseppe Torelli; costumes: Eri Nakamura.

Mutual Market – choreography by Shahar Binyamini; performers: Eri Nakamura, Iyar Elezra, Adi Zlatin, Bobbi Smith; music: Ohad Fishof & Gyorgy Ligeti.

Flesh – choreography by Chen-Wei Li; performers: Shamel Pitts, Chen-Wei Li; music: The tUnE-yArDs.

Rachael & Rivka – choreography by Guy Shomroni; performers: Rachel Osborne, Rebecca Hytting; music: Bemd Hunger

Rock Bottom Riser – choreography by Iyar Elezra; performers: Erez Zohar, Iyar Elezra; music: Berangere Maximin.

Performances will take place:
May 30th & May 31st at 21:00; June 1st at 14:00; June 2nd at 21:30 in the Batsheva Dance Company Varda Studio at Suzanne Dellal. Tickets are 55 NIS and may be ordered online or call 03-5171471.
