Dancers – there’s still time to sign up for Dance TLV – International Summer Workshops 2012! This year, the emphasis is on celebrated international choreographers – William Forsythe, Sasha Waltz, David Dawson and Wayne McGregor, with workshops conducted by dancers/choreographers who bring years of experience working and creating with these masters, providing insight and an insider’s knowledge of the repertoire and choreographic vision.
Suzanne Dellal’s summer workshop program is produced in collaboration with the Kibbutz College, and the workshops will take place from July 29 – August 9, 2012 on the Kibbutz College Campus, 149 Namir Road, Tel Aviv. The two-week workshops will be conducted in two groups, divided according to age: one for 16 – 18 year old dance students, and one for dancers and teachers 18+. At the end of each weekly session the students will present their work in a performance of selections from the repertoire.
The Suzanne Dellal Centre views the workshops as vital to the development of dancers in Israel, providing them with an opportunity to enrich the dance training acquired in Israel with exposure to new perspectives and methods from leading international dancers, choreographers and teachers. The choreographic workshops were initiated in 1990, and have been conducted by choreographers such as Robert Cohen, Daniel Ezralow, Ohad Naharin, Joseph Nadj, Barak Marshall, Shen Wei, Bruno Bouche of the Paris Opera Ballet, Damien Jalet from Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Dance Company in Belgium, Gilles Chuyen from India, and many more.
