Enjoy the title track from Lurrie Bell’s 2013 album: Blues in My Soul

The blues are in his soul – Lurrie Bell was born into music. The son of blues harmonica player Carey Bell, he picked up a guitar at age five, and taught himself to play, and grew up surrounded by blues musicians – Eddie Taylor, Big Walter Horton, Eddie C. Cambell – and his dad’s employer Muddy Waters. Some of his childhood was spent in Mississippi and Alabama, he played in church, immersed in the gospel tradition. When he returned to Chicago at age 14 he continued playing in church, and also formed his first blues band.

He’s known some personal struggles, but hard times make for good music. He found his way back to music in a big way in the mid- 1990s, and his star has been on the rise ever since. The track Blues in My Soul won a Blues Music Award for Song of the Year in 2014, and in 2015 Bell was awarded Traditional Blues Male Artist.

Tickets are 123 NIS advance purchase/150 at the door, and may be purchased via the Barby website.
