KYGO, the history-making DJ, songwriter, record producer and pianist, will be performing in Israel for the first time on December 2, 2017!  20-something Norwegian Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, known by his stage name KYGO, has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame, with over a billion views on his YouTube and SoundCloud, as well as landmark performances at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert and Rio Olympics. KYGO will be performing – one show only – at The Tel Aviv Convention Center. Early bird discount tickets on sale now, tickets sales officially open Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 17:00.

KYGO has a way with remixes, often slowing them down to a chill sound with an easy groove that’s so very catchy, and he knows what songs to choose, like Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing:

He first caught the world’s attention with his remix of Ed Sheeran’s I See Fire.  Commissioned for the soundtrack of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013), the song burned into the consciousness of Tolkien fans as it played over the closing credits. KYGO’s imprint on the song is transformative, taking it from a poignant ballad, to a dance groove.

KYGO was predicted to be “the next EDM superstar” by Billboard Magazine in 2014, and he’s already made music history, become the first house music producer to perform at the closing ceremony of the Olympics in Rio on August 21, 2016. Yet another landmark performance was at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert on December 11, 2015, when he became the first EDM performer to play at this event.

The young musician has already been the subject of a documentary, Stole the Show (2016), that follows KYGO behind the scenes and gives a sense of his fast track to fame. Born in Singapore to Norwegian parents, KYGO spent his childhood in Brazil, Japan, Kenya, and Egypt. He began to take piano lessons at age six, and began producing music in classic bedroom style as a teenager, figuring things out with the assistance of YouTube tutorials. The piano remains central to his work as a DJ and musician, and this, perhaps, is the core of his wide-spread appeal. In an interview with Vogue (July 28, 2017), KYGO said that all his compositions begin with the piano, and emphasized the importance of working with live instruments onstage in his concerts, as he plays the piano, moving from one song to another, creating remixes, “creating an experience.” Kygo’s debut studio album Cloud Nine was released on 13 May 2016, and his EP Stargazing in 2017.
