Fresh Paint # 4 Contemporary Art Fair Tel Aviv will be open from April 5 \u2013 9, 2011 <\/strong>at the Botanic Garden site, 51 Ben Zvi Street, next to the Abu Navot garden. In addition to showcasing the works of independent artists alongside artists represented by leading Israeli galleries, there will be a myriad of activities throughout the fair \u2013 from the Fresh Paint Salon talks with figures from the art world, to children\u2019s workshops and more\u2026<\/p>\n

\nWednesday, April 6th at 18:00 – Special Project Conversation: The Principle of Moments. Saturday, April 9 at 13:00: Tziporela Ensemble <\/strong>will talk about the inspiration for their wildly funny shows with video clips.
\n14:00 \u2013 Curator Ellen Ginton <\/strong>will talk with Dor Guez<\/strong>, one of the three artists short-listed for the Nathan Gottesdiener Award, about his work.
\n15:00 \u2013 What happens when football meets video art? A panel discussion moderated by Mati Shmuelof<\/strong>, with Zohar Elfant, Tamuz Beinstock, Sharon Barnef <\/strong>and Itamar Shimshoni<\/strong>.
\n17:00 \u2013 Blazer<\/strong> and Ms.Use <\/strong>get naked at Fresh Paint, a panel discussion with Blazer Magazine Editor Lior Naaman<\/strong>,\u00a0and Merav Maroody <\/strong>& Sivan Shtang, Editors of Ms.Use Magazine<\/strong>, moderated by journalist Yuval Saar.<\/p>\n

Each year the Igal Ahouvi Art Collection presents an award to the Most Promising Artist, the winner is announced at the fair\u2019s opening and receives a solo exhibition at the fair the following year. Fresh Paint #3 Most Promising Artist Nivi Alroy<\/strong> will present a solo exhibition Food Chain, curated by Tami Katz-Freiman at Fresh Paint #4. Alroy, B.A. graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and M.A. graduate of the School of Visual Arts, New York, creates works in different media \u2013 sculpture, drawing, animation and installation \u2013 all of which will be represented in the exhibit.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Most Promising Artist will be announced at the opening of the fair. The 2011 Award Committee includes: Igal Ahouvi, Art collector and Chairman of the committee; Jessica Morgan, The Daskalopoulous Curator, International Art, Tate Modern, London; Edna Moshenson, Independent Curator, Tel Aviv; Igael Tumarkin, Artist, Israel; Shay Rosen, Head of the Igal Ahouvi Art Collection, and Sarit Shapira, Curator of the Igal Ahouvi Art Collection.<\/p>\n

Another award to be announced at the fair is the Sotheby\u2019s Auction House Under the Hammer \u2013 one of the works by independent artists exhibiting at the fair is chosen by Sotheby\u2019s staff to be sold at the December Israeli art auction in New York, with proceeds from the sale given in full to the artist.<\/p>\n

Children Workshops will take place on Saturday, April 9th:<\/strong>
\n11:00 \u2013 13:30: Kids Love Israeli Art with the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and The
\nMeyerhoff Art Education Center, workshops begin every 30 min., suitable for ages 5-95.
\n14:30 \u2013 16:00: Drawings inspired by Reuven Rubin\u2019s paintings with the Rubin Museum, Tel Aviv, suitable for ages 4 \u2013 10.<\/p>\n
