The 8th International Women\u2019s Film Festival<\/strong> will take place in Rehovot from November 14 \u2013 20, 2011. The festival announces an open call for entries for the Israeli competition and the International Panorama. Details for the Israeli competition can be found (in Hebrew) on the festival site: www.iwff.net. The deadline for applications (for both categories) is July 3, 2011.<\/p>\n

Details on the International Panorama: <\/strong><\/p>\n

International Panorama regulations and participation terms<\/strong>
\nThe Festival only accepts films that were directed by women, from all genres and lengths. The festival wishes to screen films that deal with women characters and women\u2019s experiences and from women\u2019s points of view. The festival doesn\u2019t accept for submission films already submitted for the pre-selection in previous years.<\/p>\n

Registration:<\/strong>
\nRegistration forms are available on the festival site, click here. Fill in the form, sign it, and send it along with a DVD of the film to the festival address. All preview copies of the films that do not have English dialogue must have English subtitles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Deadline for receiving the films: 3 JULY 2011 (arrival).<\/p>\n

Selection Process:<\/strong>
\nThe artistic committee of the festival will decide which films will be screened in the panorama. A notification will be sent to the contacts of all the films registered to the pre-selection.<\/p>\n

Accepted films \u2013 screening copies and additional material:
\nThe festival screens only in 35mm, Beta SP or DigiBeta formats.
\nThe screening copies of the accepted films should arrive at the festival’s offices no later than October 1st. Any exceptions should be agreed on with the Festival’s production coordinator.<\/p>\n

For all accepted films, the following material will be needed:
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A photograph of the director (in at least 300dpi resolution)
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2 or more still photographs taken from the film (in at least 300dpi resolution)
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Biography and filmography of the director.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The director’s comments on the film.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Additional marketing material of the movie such as posters, postcards, press kit, etc. can be sent to the festival offices at a later date, and should arrive no later than the 20th of October.<\/p>\n

This material will be used for catalogue and website purposes, as well as the festival’s Public Relations and press.
