Initiated by artistic director Eli Grunfeld, the festival reflects different musical traditions, merging folk melodies, classics and original compositions.<\/p>\n<p>Zehava Ben will open the festival with \u201cThe Golden Oud\u201d \u2013 an evening of hits from her albums. Ben will be accompanied by Eran Zamir on oud; Hezi David \u2013 musical producer and keyboard; Ofir Grady \u2013 drums; Meir Shitrit \u2013 guitar; Sahar Ank \u2013 bass guitar; Yossi Shoval \u2013 darbuka. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 21:00.<\/p>\n<p>The New Andalusian Orchestra will perform a festive concert \u201cA Love Concert for the Darbuka and Oud\u201d with songs from their new album. The full orchestra will perform arrangements for classic works and songs from Morocco, Egypt, and Algeria. The concert will also feature original compositions by orchestra members, including \u201cJaffa Waves\u201d by oud player Elias\u00a0 Wakileh. Guest vocalists are Etti Bitton, and the paytanit Ziva Attar. The orchestra will be conducted by Tom Cohen. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 21:00.<\/p>\n<p>Maktoub \u2013 a literary musical performance inspired by the Iris Eliya Cohen\u2019s bestselling novel Maktoub. The performance will include staged scenes from the book, with music and songs as a soundtrack to the book, and the oud at the center.
