Written and directed by Maor Zaguri, the musical has been in the works since February 2011, and is scheduled to premiere in November 2011.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14941\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14941\" style=\"width: 595px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_1023idan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14941\" title=\"IMG_1023idan\" src=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_1023idan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"595\" height=\"446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_1023idan.jpg 595w, https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/IMG_1023idan-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 595px) 100vw, 595px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14941\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Idan Alterman as Yoram Zuckerman\/Photo: Ayelet Dekel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In a press meeting held this morning, Habima Director Ilan Ronen spoke of his long term connection to Sanderson and the challenge of finding someone to create a musical that would reflect Sanderson\u2019s artistic world, which Ronen described as \u201cpart Woody Allen, very Israeli, and visually connected to the world of comics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zaguri, who has directed Absinthe by Magdalena Fertacz (which premiered at the Habima festival of Polish Theatre) and received the Nissim Aloni Award for his play Mishehu Yamut Basof (In the End, Someone Will Die), said that coming into the project he tried to understand \u201cthis Sandersonism\u201d and bring Sanderson\u2019s abundant sense of play and word play to the stage. In a workshop with the 8 person cast \u2013 Tali Oren, Or Ilan, Idan Alterman, Tamar Ben-Ami, Etti Vaknin, Alon Noyman, Pini Kidron, and Asaf Segev \u2013 each actor created a character. Between girlfriend problems and money problems, there\u2019s certainly a lot to sing about, as this morning\u2019s preview of the opening montage scene revealed. Sanderson fans will happily recognize familiar lyrics that have been worked into the dialogue, and one can expect a slew of in-jokes.
