InDNegev<\/a> \u2013 three days of music in the desert from October 27 \u2013 29, 2011. Now in its 5th year, this celebration of Indie music will take place in Mitzpe Gvulot<\/a>, with over 70 performers on three different stages. If you\u2019ve been to InDNegev, you know what I\u2019m talking about, and if you haven\u2019t \u2013 maybe now is the time to find out.<\/p>\n

Who is coming to InDNegev? Just about everyone you want to hear! Shmemel announced last night in concert that they will be joining the desert marathon, along with a seriously impressive list of bands: Tractor\u2019s Revenge <\/a>(Nikmat Hatractor); Marionetta Sol<\/a> & Noam Rotem<\/a>, The Raw Men Empire<\/a>, Izabo<\/a>, Yair Yona<\/a>; FunkNstein<\/a>; Tamar Eisenman<\/a>, Bnei Hema<\/a> (Ohad Fishof & Ishai Edri); Lorena B<\/a> & Dana Adini<\/a>; Shay Nobleman<\/a> will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut album; the Alaev Family<\/a>; Israeli Breit<\/a> in a new solo show; Umlala<\/a>; Uzi Ramirez Trio<\/a> & Tree<\/a>; Ohana Brass Band<\/a> (site specific groove \u2013 Hadag Nachash<\/a> & The Apples & Kuti & Sefi Ramirez & Elran Dekel among others); Kitzu<\/a>; 2013<\/a>; Yehu Yaron<\/a> & Stav Ben Shahar<\/a> (Haya Miller) & Zeev Tene<\/a> in the project \u2018Haluk Had-Paami\u2019 (translation: disposable robe); 1:1<\/a> & Yankale Rotblit<\/a>; a festival special \u2018Lichluch baNegev\u2019 led by Leon Feldman; Zvuloon Dub System<\/a> with special guest Abate Berihun<\/a> for some Ethiopian Reggae; Benny Bashan<\/a>; Tiny Fingers<\/a> and more\u2026.Just reading the list puts me in a terrific mood!<\/p>\n

Among the unique performances you will not want to miss is an indie tribute to Hanoch Levin\u2019s controversial political satire Queen of the Bathtub, featuring Talia Alaev, Ruth Dolores Weiss, Yehu Yaron and more. Produced by Stav Ben Shahar and Guy Hajaj, this concert made an historic premiere at Tmuna Theatre<\/a> with composer Zohar Levy in attendance. If hearing these songs doesn\u2019t inspire your revolutionary spirit, you may want to check your pulse.<\/p>\n

InDNegev and Anova Music have collaborated to produce an album of the best live performances from previous years \u2013 the CD will be launched at the festival.<\/p>\n

Immensely popular, InDNegev often sells out well before the festival begins. How to get to Mitzpe Gvulot? Here’s a map & instructions:<\/p>\n

From Tel Aviv<\/strong> – Driving on Road #4 turn left at the Yad Mordechai intersection, until you arrive at the Nir Am (Road #34) intersection. Turn right at the Nir Am intersection, then turn left at the Saad intersection, then at the next intersection (Road #232), turn right. Drive straight on #232 until you reach the Gvulot intersection, turn left onto Road # 222 then turn right into Gvulot. The trip should take about an hour and a quarter.<\/p>\n

From Beer Sheva<\/strong> – Drive towards the Gilat intersection then turn left towards Ofakim and Urim (Road #231). Then turn left at the Urim intersection onto Road #234. Turn right at the Ze’elim intersection then left into Gvulot. The trip should take about 25 minutes.<\/p>\n
