They will be recording select programs from the festival\u2019s rich offerings, to be broadcast on the acclaimed World Routes program, which has been broadcast for over 11 years on BBC, documenting leading musicians from diverse cultures with interviews, concerts and on-location features.<\/p>\n<p>This year the Oud Festival will join the impressive roster of music festivals featured on World Routes, which has included: the Carnival in Brazil, WOMAD under the direction of Peter Gabriel in the UK, and the Festival au D\u00e9sert in Mali. The World Routes producers have decided to record six of the concerts scheduled to take place at the Oud Festival: Taiseer Elias and his Brothers, the esteemed composer and musician will perform with the Ensemble Bustan Abraham; Amal Murkus; My Sweet Canary \u2013 Yasmin Levy\u2019s tribute to Greek-Jewish singer Rosa Eskenazi; Turkish vocalist Aynur; Violet Salameh and members of the Tarshihah Orchestra in a tribute to classic Arabic composers; and Black Eyebrows &#8211; the international trio Petrakis-Lopez-Chimirani (Greece\/Spain\/France).<\/p>\n<p>World Routes producer James Parkin will be arriving in Israel to record the program with sound engineer James Britwhistle.\u00a0 Israeli broadcaster Moshe Morad will be presenting the program. Morad appears regularly on World Routes, among the past programs he has presented were those recorded in Jordan and Turkey. The Oud Festival is produced by the Confederation House, under the artistic direction of Effie Benaya, and will take place from November 10 \u2013 19, 2011 in several Jerusalem venues: The Confederation House, The Jerusalem Theatre, The Khan Theatre and Beit Shmuel.
