The 8 member Latin jazz group works out of Amsterdam and was founded in 1983 by Jan L. Hartong. Nueva Manteca includes: Jan Laurens Hartong \u2013 piano; Rik Mol \u2013 Trumpet; Jeroen Vierdag \u2013 Bass; Ben van den Dungen \u2013 saxophone; Nils Fischer \u2013 Percussion; Lucas van Merwijk \u2013 drums.<br \/>\nThey will be presenting an intriguing program in Israel: Requiem Para El Mundo, Gregorian requiems presented in a Latin jazz and Salsa context. The concert will consist of Gregorian masses and traditional Afro-Cuban religious songs, sung in Latin, Spanish and the Afro-Cuban Lucumi language that is originally from Nigeria. Nueva Manteca will be joined on their tour by the Israeli group The Vocal Octet. The Israeli a-cappella group was founded by Raphael Seelig and includes: Ronit Katz, Michal Senesh-Alkan \u2013 soprano; Yasmin Gamliel, Orly Mazor-Yuval \u2013 alto; Erez Tal, Ron Gang \u2013 tenor; Oz Weiss, Raviv Leibziner \u2013 bass; and is directed by Ron Gang.<br \/>\nPerformances will take place:<br \/>\nMonday, November 7, 2011 at 21:00 at the Gerard Behar Center, 11 Bezalel St, Jerusalem, 02- 6251139<br \/>\nTuesday, November 8, 2011 at 22:00 (doors open at 20:15) at the Zappa Club, Herzliya, 03 &#8211; 7626666.
