DESURBS is a research project that focuses primarily on the planning and design of urban spaces so that they will be less vulnerable \u2013 and more durable and resilient \u2013 to security threats including terrorism, crime, industrial security and natural disasters. Participants from Israel, Spain, the UK, Greece and Norway participate in the project, which will be completed in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the first year, including the research project, will be discussed and presented to the target market (the \u201cend users\u201d, which include the Jerusalem Municipality, the Israeli Police and people in the private sector who have an interest in the project) at the workshop next week. There will be a presentation of 30 ideas\/works\/products by professors and students within the two Master\u2019s programs, and 10 of these projects will be chosen to go onto the next stage of the project.<\/p>\n<p>The DESURBS project is co-funded by the European Commission within the Seventh Framework Program.
