Dance, spin, walk or run over to the Center for Contemporary Art (CCA)<\/a> to experience the Sharon Lockhart | Noa Eshkol<\/strong>\u00a0 exhibition which will be closing on February 25, 2012.<\/p>\n

Noa Eshkol, co-creator with Prof. Abraham Wachman of the Eshkol-Wachman Movement Notation<\/a>, is a fascinating figure in the history of dance. The movement notation system is not only a way of documenting and transmitting information about movement, but a way of thinking about movement that can open new directions of understanding and experiencing movement and the body. Eshkol\u2019s dances and teachings are kept alive by dancers, who worked with her for many years, the most veteran are Racheli Nul-Kahana and Ruti Sela. Sharon Lockhart, an artist based in Los Angeles who creates research-based projects, often in collaboration with communities, worked with this community of dancers to create an exhibition that encompasses photography, video and archival materials on display at the Center for Contemporary Art and the Israel Museum.<\/p>\n

The CCA exhibit is an experience not to be missed, with a variety of events and activities that reveal different aspects of Noa Eshkol\u2019s work and its influences. A complete schedule in Hebrew can be found on the CCA site.<\/p>\n

NOT TO BE MISSED:<\/strong> Open classes in Noa Eshkol\u2019s method (for viewing or participating) led by Racheli Nul-Kahana, the leader of the Chamber Dance Group. February 14th and 21st from 14:00 \u2013 16:00.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Children\u2019s workshop on Saturday, February 18th from 11:00 \u2013 12:00 (ages 5 \u2013 7); 12:30 \u2013 13:30 (ages 7 \u2013 10).<\/p>\n

A closing event will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 17:00 \u2013 19:30.<\/strong> The Chamber Dance Group will host friends for a joint performance followed by a discussion with the audience.<\/p>\n
