Ben Zvi was awarded the 2011 Rappaport Prize for an Established Israeli Painter. Founded in 2006 in honor of Ruth and Baruch Rappaport, the prize is to be awarded annually for ten years to an established and young painter, and in addition to a monetary prize, funds a solo exhibition for each at the museum.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18317\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18317\" style=\"width: 597px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/asaf-ben-zvi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18317\" title=\"asaf ben zvi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/asaf-ben-zvi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/asaf-ben-zvi.jpg 597w, https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/asaf-ben-zvi-300x232.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18317\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Asaf Ben Zvi, Horizon of the Past\/Image courtesy of the Tel Aviv Museum<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On the exhibit Asaf Ben Zvi: Forgetting Almost Everything &#8211;<br \/>\n<em>Disasters\u2014ecological, personal and natural<\/em> <em>disasters\u2014which were Asaf Ben Zvi&#8217;s primal focus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>of attraction and repulsion, have become colorful<\/em> <em>fields, with motifs such as a cross, a jerrycan, a<\/em><br \/>\n<em>hornet, moth or bird, symbolizing fragile human<\/em> <em>existence in eternal struggle.
