Art galleries and museums will be open until 23:00 on Thursday, September 6th, this year with music and dance performances \u2013 all free and open to the public. Enjoy the museum (27 Shaul Hamelech Blvd) and then come to the foyer to hear Maya rock the cello with guests Sheila Ferber and Eran Zur and a repertoire that ranges from romantic pop-rock classics \u2013 \u201cJust the Way You Are\u201d to poet Yona Wollach\u2019s \u201cSex Aher\u201d and Cyndi Lauper\u2019s \u201cGirls Just Wanna Have Fun\u201d \u2013 Yes!!<\/p>\n<p>In the spirit of embracing all the arts, in collaboration with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.choreographers.org.il\/English\" target=\"_blank\">Israeli Choreographers Association<\/a>, this year\u2019s opening night events will feature dance performances taken out of their usual context and out into the open. An unusual approach to dance that awakens the voyeur lurking within, provoking thoughts on the relationship between audience and performer.<\/p>\n<p><em>Haravakah<\/em> (the bachelorette) by <strong>Nadine Boomer<\/strong>. Inspired by the television reality show, 5 women dancers take on the roles of charming suitors, all wooing one bachelorette. Boomer\u2019s choreographic style is known for her lively and humorous approach to character, this one sounds like fun!<\/p>\n<p><em>Ezrat Nashim<\/em> by <strong>Dafi Altbeb<\/strong>. Let\u2019s hear it for women\u2019s power: seven pairs of strong hands, seven strong women \u2013 one for all and all for one. The title \u201cEzrat Nashim\u201d refers to the women\u2019s section in Orthodox Jewish synagogues, where women sit separately, usually behind a screen, wall or other barrier. A moving and intelligent commentary on identity and relationships, inspired by the choreographer\u2019s experiences in Tel Aviv.\u00a0 Ziv lived next door to a woman who earned her living as a prostitute; her relationship with her neighbor inspired this work. The dance looks into the lives of two women, each living independently in the urban arena. In his outrageously entertaining solo work <em>Everything<\/em> Kogan recreates and deconstructs 60 years of Israeli history, kinetic social criticism in white glitter. Read more about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/?p=1140\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Everything<\/em><\/a> here.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Province<\/em>,\u201d the main exhibition of \u201cLoving Art Making Art,\u201d is an on-going multi-disciplinary work, curated by Leah Abir with associate curator Gilly Karjevsky, exploring art in the public space. The work will be exhibited in two locations: the Saraya compound in Jaffa, and the roof-top Einav Cultural Center (above Gan HaIr) on Ibn Gvirol Street. Participating artists include: Alona Rodeh, Ariel Efraim Ashbel, Tahel Frosh &amp; Mati Shemoelof (Guerilla Tarbut), Hadas Ophrat, The Zimmer, Tamir Lichtenbeg, Maya Dunietz, Meir Tati, Jaffa Project, Nevet Yitzhak, Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 R\u00e9alist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLoving Art Making Art\u201d is initiated and produced by the Arts and Performance Departments of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality.
