The next concert in the Open University’s Noon Concert series will be held today, December 5, 2012 at 12:00 at the Open University Campus in Ra’anana.<\/p>\n

The program will feature two beloved works by French composers of the Romantic period. The first will be Claude Debussy’s Violin Sonata in G minor. The Violin Sonata was Debussy’s final work, composed in 1917, and its premiere in that year was his final performance. Following this piece will be Ernest Chausson’s Concert for Violin, Piano and String Quartet in D minor (composed between 1889 and 1891). These works will be performed by a stellar ensemble of well-known Israeli musicians.<\/p>\n

Victor Stanislavsky<\/a> is one of the most promising Israeli pianists today, and is gaining recognition both in Israel and abroad. He has performed on stages from the Americas to the Far East, and been collecting prizes and awards since the age of ten. He has performed in over 60 concerts in the past season and has even begun to give master classes.
\nEsteemed violinist Evgenia Epshtein is a co-founder and member of the Aviv Quartet. Her international career spans concert halls in Europe, North and Central America and South Africa. She has performed as a soloist and orchestra member with some of Israel’s best-loved ensembles, such as the Ashdod Symphony Orchestra and the Ashkelon Chamber Orchestra. As an instructor, she sometimes teaches at the “Keshet Eilon” program, and she is currently a professor at the Academy of Arts in Split, Croatia.
\nThe Opera Quartet was formed in 2008 by members of the Rishon LeZion Symphony Orchestra, and has performed in many of Israel’s concert halls, such as the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Heichal HaTarbut in Rishon LeZion, as well venues in Europe. The quartet often performs with guest performers such as Chen Zimbalista, the Aviv Quartet and the Gurfinkel Clarinet Duo.
\nThe concert will take place on Wednesday, December 5 at 12:00 at the Chais Auditorium on the Open University campus (1 University Road, Ra’anana).<\/p>\n

Those who can’t make it to Ra’anana can hear these wonderful musicians performing another concert of French chamber music and chansons, this coming Friday (December 7) at 12:00 in Rishon LeZion’s Heichal HaTarbut, home to the Rishon LeZion Symphony.
