Erotic songs will be the subject of the next concert in the Open University’s Noon Concert series. Music by various European and Israeli composers from the past 500 years will feature in this unique concert, to be held in Ra’anana on at noon on May 13th.<\/p>\n

This concert is the brainchild of pianist Ido Ariel, who will accompany the singers. He believes in the importance of involving young singers to adopt the tradition of art song, and the artists who sing this program are two of Israel’s most promising singers: soprano Einat Aronstein and baritone Guy Pelc.
\nThe program will include music of yesterday and today from all over the world. Some highlights are songs by Purcell, Mozart and Wolf, Schubert’s “Die Forelle” and “Heidenroeslein” and selections from Brahms’ “Duets” (op. 28). Also on the program will be Poulenc’s Chansons gaillardes (“Bawdy Songs”), musical settings of anonymous 17th-century texts. A special treat will be compositions and arrangements by Israeli composers Nachum Nardi and Menachem Weisenberg.<\/p>\n

The concert will take place on Monday, May 13 at 12:00 at the Chais Auditorium on the Open University campus (1 University Road, Ra\u2019anana).
