<\/a>The EDge, the postgraduate performance company of London Contemporary Dance School will be arriving in Israel for two performances at the Israeli Choreographers Association Warehouse 2 in Jaffa Port on July 2 & 3, 2014. But that’s not all…<\/p>\n
Two Israeli choreographers, Maya Levy<\/a> and Idan Cohen<\/a>, were invited to create short works for The EDge, in the context of the ongoing creative dialogue between The Place and the Israeli Choreographers Association. Cohen and Levy join a lively cohort of choreographers commissioned to create works for The EDge: Trisha Brown<\/a>, internationally renowned post-modernist choreographer; Yael Flexer<\/a>, Israeli born UK based choreographer; Joe Moran<\/a>, choreographer, dancer and Artistic Director of Dance Foundation; and Ben Wright<\/a>, Associate Artistic Director at Skanes Dans Theater.\u00a0 The choreographers each spent a month in residency at The Place, working with the dancers and creative team.<\/p>\n The works to be performed in Warehouse 2:<\/p>\n Spring on Mars<\/em><\/strong> by Maya Levy The event will be accompanied by electronic and opera music. An exhibition of photographs curated by The Place will be on display in the foyer. Following the performance there will be a discussion with Jeanne Yasko, the EDge’s artistic director; Eddie Nixon, director of The Place; and choreographers Maya Levy and Idan Cohen.<\/p>\n
