Heidrun Holtmann<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

To mark fifty years of German-Israel diplomatic relations, a very special concert will take place on April 30 at 20:00 at the Felicja Blumental Music Center in Tel Aviv. Pianist Heidrun Holtmann will perform a program featuring German and Israeli composers, and the Israeli premiere of a new work by composers Tzvi Avni and Martin Christoph Redel.<\/p>\n

Heidrun Holtmann is an award-winning German pianist who has performed with world-class orchestras around the globe. Her repertoire spans classical and Romantic-era composers as well as contemporary composers. She collaborates frequently with some of the best composers of our time. Her discography includes a collection of works by Tzvi Avni, and she performed the premiere of his Piano Concerto, which was written for and dedicated to her.<\/p>\n

Born in Saarbr\u00fccken and a resident of Israel since 1935, Israel Prize recipient Tzvi Avni\u2019s works are often inspired by Israeli and Jewish history: his song cycle \u201cSe questo \u00e8 un uomo\u201d, based on Primo Levi\u2019s work of the same name, and \u201cSongs and Melodies\u201d, written in honor of Yitzhak Rabin, are just two examples. His new work, \u201cIn Spite of All That\u201d, is a reflection on last summer\u2019s Operation Protective Edge.<\/p>\n

Also on the program are works by Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, Josef Tal and Gil Shohat.<\/p>\n
