Every time I visited Israel, my mother had recommendations on new works to see, and in the summer of 1996, I saw Ohad Naharin&#8217;s <em>Yag<\/em>, a work which made an indelible impression on me with its fusion of text, texture and sound. Now Naharin is planning to create a new dance, inspired by <em>Yag<\/em> &#8211; sounds very promising!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>Yag 2016<\/em> will premiere in April, along with the debut of a new work by Roy Assaf. Having seen and admired Roy Assaf\u2019s work over the years, from his debut in Gvanim BeMahol 2005 with <em>We Came for the Wings Stayed Because We Could Not Fly<\/em>, <em>Six Years Later <\/em>(Curtain Up 2011), the radiantly beautiful and playful duet in which he performed with Hadar Yunger , the politically charged <em>The Hill<\/em> (Curtain Up 2012), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/?p=28103\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Girls<\/em><\/a> in Curtain Up 2013, which was followed by Boys &#8211; I&#8217;m curious to see what will come next.<\/p>\n<p>More to come in the 2015 &#8211; 2016 season:<\/p>\n<p>The Batsheva Ensemble will perform a new work by Danielle Agami, an independent choreographer and former dancer with the Batsheva Dance Company. Agami created <em>Shula<\/em> for the Batsheva Ensemble in 2013, a visually and emotionally compelling work. Definitely a choreographer to watch! The Ensemble will also perform <a href=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/?p=8950\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Bill<\/em><\/a> by Sharon Eyal, a fiercely lyric and powerful work&#8230; an experience at once ultra contemporary and primal; charged with allusive imagery and movement.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32297\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32297\" style=\"width: 584px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Three_Gadi-Dagon.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-32297\" src=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Three_Gadi-Dagon.jpg\" alt=\"Three\/Photo: Gadi Dagon\" width=\"584\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Three_Gadi-Dagon.jpg 584w, https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Three_Gadi-Dagon-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32297\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Three\/Photo: Gadi Dagon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Look forward to the return of favorite works this season: <em>Last Work<\/em>, <em>Three<\/em>, <em>The Hole<\/em>, and for all ages &#8211; <em>Kamuyot<\/em> and <em>Decal&#8217;e<\/em>.
