Onofri began his career as a violinist, serving for over twenty years as concertmaster and soloist for Il Giardino Armonico, an ensemble dedicated to performing baroque on period instruments. He then turned to conducting, and has since led several internationally-acclaimed baroque ensembles at top concerts halls worldwide. He is only one of the esteemed musicians who visit Israel to perform with the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra \u2013 other guests include famed baroque ensemble Profeti della Quinta, now based in Basel, conductor Andrew Parrott, and violinist Luis Ot\u00e1vio Santos.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KcO5pSMFV6A?rel=0&amp;controls=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nLater events in the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra\u2019s season will include composer-in-residence Elam Rotem\u2019s musical drama \u201cJoseph and his Brothers\u201d, a concert dedicated to mythical and Biblical female characters, Buxtehude\u2019s 1680 cantata cycle \u201cMembra Jesu Nostri\u201d, Vivaldi\u2019s <em>Four Seasons<\/em> and more.
