Yizhar (Yizhar Smilansky 1916 \u2013 2006). Running is a work for chorus, musicians and actors, based on the story Ritza el HaYam (Running towards the sea) by S. Yizhar, concluding their theatrical trilogy of works based on Yizhar&#8217;s stories relating to the sea. Running will premiere on December 1, 2016 at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.<\/p>\n<p>Yizhar is best known for his novella <em>Hirbet Hizeh<\/em>, published in 1949, soon after Israel&#8217;s War of Independence in 1948. The story has been considered controversial for its description of the expulsion of Arabs from their village by the Israeli army in 1948. Criticized by some, S. Yizhar has been a symbol of morality and the voice of conscience for others.<\/p>\n<p><em>Running<\/em> is described by the Ruth Kanner Theatre Group: A group of young people travel to Masada to sing at sunrise. Their trip goes awry and becomes a confrontation with the wind, sea, and time.
