Do women cheat? Do men cheat? Can we trust our partners? How do we know we\u2019re marrying \u201cthe right\u201d person?<\/p>\n

These questions preoccupy our minds no matter where we\u2019re from or how old we are – even if we\u2019re characters in an opera (and hey, maybe we are).\u00a0The opera in question is Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/em>, and it\u2019s a masterpiece on love, sex, and relationships brought to you by two of the most daring, often dirty-minded creators in history: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his Italian librettist, Lorenzo Da Ponte.<\/p>\n

The Israel Opera is bringing us a riotous, raunchy new production by Atom Egoyan, renowned Canadian screen and stage director. Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/em> (\u201cThus do they all\u201d) is alternately titled The School for Lovers (\u201cLa scuola degli amanti\u201d), and this is the concept behind Egoyan\u2019s production.\u00a0This production will feature some of our favorite Israeli talents, such as Yael Levita, Na\u2019ama Goldman, Anat Czarny, Hila Baggio, Oded Reich, and more. We\u2019ll also be introduced to some new voices: Renato Dolcini, Mark Milhofer, and Alasdair Kent.<\/p>\n

Performances start May 31 and continue through June 15. Pre-performance lectures, post-performance \u201ctalkback\u201d interview sessions, and backstage tours will be offered to operagoers as usual.
