The 24th<\/sup> Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival (TISFF) announced the award winners tonight in a festive ceremony that took place tonight at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque.<\/p>\n

The Israeli Competition<\/h4>\n

Between Her\/Photo: Mya Kaplan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Between Her<\/em>, written and directed by Bar Cohen (The Steve Tisch School of Film and Television, Tel Aviv University), was awarded Best Film in the Israeli Competition. \u00a0Jury members for the Israeli Competition are Maialen Franco D\u00e1vila, Sigal Avin, and Eitan Mansuri. Their statement on the selection of Between Her: \u201cWe were all thrilled to see the nuanced revelation of a solid and moving personal story, that took us into a world with which we were not familiar. Unique characters touch on complex issues with humor and honesty. We await and look forward to seeing your next project.\u201d The Israeli Competition is supported by Cellcom TV, and all the winning films will be broadcast there.<\/p>\n

Sarai Abergel won the award for Best Script for the film Let Sleeping Dogs Lie<\/em>. Tal Ninio won the award for Best Cinematography for the film The 50th<\/sup> Psalm<\/em>. \u00a0Gidon Tokatly won the award for Best Editing for the film Someone Tell Me How to Feel<\/em>. Best Actor was awarded to Noam Imber for his performance in Fever<\/em>. A scholarship for a young directors internship was awarded to Brit Leibovitz for her film Equilibrium<\/em>. The Audience Favorite Award was received by the film Sentence<\/em>, written and directed by Or Getz. The film Solo<\/em>, written and directed by Anat Eisenberg, received an Honorable Mention.<\/p>\n

The International Competition<\/h4>\n

The Salamander Child<\/em>, written and directed by Th\u00e9o Degen (INSAS, Belgium) won the award for Best Film. The jury members for the International Competition are Samuel Maoz, Jovan Marjanovi\u0107, Doris Bauer, Dominique Welinsky, Assaf Sudry. The jury\u2019s statement: \u201cWisely using most of the cinematic tools, the director takes us into a hypnotizing, original, absurd, mythological and moving world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The award for Promising Director was given to the film Herd<\/em>, written and directed by Omer Daida. Alexandru Mironescu won the award for Best Script for the film Summer Planning<\/em>. May Abadi Grebler won the award for Best Cinematography for the film Night Stroll<\/em>. Emma Meyer won the award for Best Editing for the film The Furniture<\/em>. The Audience Favorite award was given to the film Not Today. Not Now.<\/em> written and directed by Eshkar Dahan. The Seine\u2019s Tears<\/em>, written by Yanis Belaid and Eliott Benard, and directed by Belaid, Benard, Nicolas Mayeur, Etienne Moulin, Hadrien Pinot, Lisa Vicente, Philippine Singer, and Alice Letailleur, and Islands in the City<\/em>, written and directed by Marian Freistuehler, both received an Honorable Mention.<\/p>\n

The Short Independent Competition<\/h4>\n

The jury members for the Short Independent Competition are Yaelle Kayam, Amir Kaminer, Marie-Pierre Vale\u00e9. It\u2019s Time You Died Already<\/em>, written and directed by Hadar Morag, won the award for Best Film. Eti Tsicko won the award for Best Director for her film Ruso<\/em>. The Audience Favorite awards was given to the film Fully Effaced<\/em>, directed by Sophie Artus, and written by Michal Karni. White Lie<\/em>, written and directed by Eyal Elisha, received an Honorable Mention.<\/p>\n

The Israeli Film Critics Association selected two films for the Best Film award: Let Sleeping Dogs Lie<\/em>, and Sentence<\/em>. Members of the Israeli Film Critics Association jury are Yael Shuv, Naama Rak, Yehonatan Tzurya.<\/p>\n
