The Jerusalem Film Festival, which will take place from July 21 \u2013 31, 2022, returns this year to its tradition of hosting international directors, actors, and members of the film industry.<\/p>\n

Some of the festival\u2019s guests will be:<\/p>\n

Director Ruben \u00d6stlund will attend 39th<\/sup> Jerusalem Film Festival which will open on July 21st<\/sup> with the festive screening of his new film, Triangle of Sadness<\/em>, at the Sultan\u2019s Pool, and will receive a special Achievement Award for his accomplishments in cinema. A retrospective of \u00d6stlund\u2019s films will be screened at the festival, including Force Majeure<\/em>, The Guitar Mongoloid<\/em>, Involuntary<\/em>, Play<\/em>, and The Square<\/em>. In addition to his attendance at the opening ceremonies, Ruben \u00d6stlund will attend the launching of his retrospective with the film Force Majeure<\/em> on July 22nd<\/sup>, which will be followed by a Q & A with the director, and he will also attend the second screening of Triangle of Sadness<\/em> on July 23rd<\/sup>, following which he will take questions from the audience.<\/p>\n

The talented singer and actor Charlotte Gainsbourg will be attending the Jerusalem Film Festival with her partner Yvan Attal, and their son Ben Attal. The trio will attend the screenings of Attal\u2019s new film, The Accusation<\/em>, which stars both Gainsbourg and Ben Attal. The screenings will take place on July 22nd<\/sup> and 23rd<\/sup>. Gainsbourg stars in two additional films that will be shown at the festival, The Passengers of the Night<\/em>, directed by
\nMikhae\u0308l Hers, and Sundown<\/em>, directed by Michel Franco, who will also be attending the festival.<\/p>\n

German filmmaker Volker Schl\u00f6ndorff, who directed The Tin Drum<\/em>, which won both the Oscar and Palme D\u2019Or, will attend the festival to head the jury for the Israeli film competition. The director will also present his documentary film The Forestmaker<\/em>, and will conduct a master class on working with actors. Cambodian director Rithy Panh, whose film The Missing Picture<\/em> was nominated for an Academy Award, will be a guest of the festival and will present his latest film Everything Will Be OK<\/em>, which was awarded a Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at the Berlin Film Festival this year.<\/p>\n

Jake Paltrow, who co-directed the documentary De Palma with Noah Baumbach, will attend the festival to present his new film June Zero<\/em>, which will participate in the Israeli film competition. Israeli-American filmmaker Oren Moverman, one of the film\u2019s producers, will attend the film\u2019s festive premiere on July 23rd<\/sup>. The Israeli premiere of the new documentary on Leonard Cohen, Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song<\/em>, will come to the Jerusalem Film Festival after its participation in the Venice and Telluride film festivals, and will be screened in the presence of the directors, Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine, as well as Robert Kory, trustee of the Leonard Cohen Family Trust. Jo\u00e3o Pedro Rodrigues, director of The Ornithologist<\/em> (2016), will be a member of the jury in the Debuts program, and will present his new film Will-O\u2019-the-Wisp<\/em> (Fogo F\u00e1tuo) which was screened in the Director\u2019s Fortnight at Cannes. Actor and director Nicolette Krebitz will present her latest film AEIOU \u2013 A Quick Alphabet of Love<\/em>, together with Milan Herms, who stars in the film.<\/p>\n
