Nikel Ensemble<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Tzlil Meudcan (Literal translation: Updated Sound) International Festival for Contemporary Music will take place from June 30 \u2013 July 3, in conjunction with a summer course in contemporary music lead by composers Chaya Czernowin & Steven Takasugi.<\/p>\n

The festival will focus on the work of German composer Helmut Lachenmann, whose works are considered very demanding of performers, and will be performed at the festival by leading international musicians : soloists from the Ictus ensemble in Belgium,\u00a0 Guitar Duo \u2013 Romen\/Schneider from Austria, and Ensemble Praesenz from Germany.<\/p>\n

The Nikel Ensemble is hosting 16 performers and composers who will work with Czernowin and Takasugi.\u00a0 Musica Nova Consort will perform a concert of experimental music that combines live performance with computers, video and electronics. In addition to concerts the festival will include : discussions with composers, lectures, an exhibit, a midnight show and even a walking tour “From Goethe to Gutman”.<\/p>\n

\nA tour through the beautiful sights of Tel Aviv where audience is invited to join the festival’s artists walking along the route leaving from the Goethe Institut, through the Rothschild boulevard and reaching\u00a0 all the way to the Nachum Gutman museum at the historical Neve Tzedek neighbourhood. Tour map will be given out at the festival venues.\u00a0
