Savvy Brazil fans know there\u2019s more to life than football \u2013 now that the\u00a0World Cup\u00a0is over, there\u2019s the cinema! The Brazilian Film Festival 2010 is celebrating its 10th anniversary.\u00a0 10 feature films and 5 documentaries will be screened at the Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and Sderot cinematheques during the month of August. The festival is made possible through the support of the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, the Brazilian Embassy in Israel, and the Ostrovsky Fund. Shlomo Azaria is the Artistic Director.<\/p>\n

The festival offers an opportunity to become acquainted with the Brazilian film industry, and several prominent representatives from Brazil will be present at the screenings. Among the festival\u2019s guests are: Paulo Halm, screenwriter of the film Blue Eyes, which opened the festival, and director of Love Stories Only Last 90 Minutes; Denise Weinberg the leading actress in Time of Fear; and Ana Carbatti who stars in The Tenants (Don\u2019t Like It, Leave).<\/p>\n

The documentaries this year all focus on Brazil\u2019s other popular export (sorry, no football films this year) \u2013 music.<\/p>\n
