Among the wide range of films to be shown in the festival is Wajda\u2019s well known trilogy of war films: <em>A Generation<\/em> (1954), <em>Kanal<\/em> (1956) and <em>Ashes and Diamonds<\/em> (1958).<br \/>\nOpening the festival is the film Sweet Rush (2009) on February 3rd in Tel Aviv, February 6th in Jerusalem, and February 9th in Haifa. The retrospective will be accompanied by an exhibition of posters for Andrzej Wajda&#8217;s movies organized with the help of the Museum of Cinematography in Lodz. Posters created by leading Polish poster artists as Waldemar Swierzy, Wojciech Angor and Franciszek Starowieyski will be on display in the foyers of the cinematheques \u2013 the exhibit will travel from one venue to another during the course of the festival.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9929\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9929\" style=\"width: 395px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/poster-man-of-ironsmall.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9929\" title=\"poster man of ironsmall\" src=\"http:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/poster-man-of-ironsmall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"395\" height=\"554\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/poster-man-of-ironsmall.jpg 395w, https:\/\/www.midnighteast.com\/mag\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/poster-man-of-ironsmall-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 395px) 100vw, 395px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9929\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Poster for Andrzej Wajda&#39;s Man of Iron<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition to Wajda\u2019s feature films, the festival will screen documentaries by Wajda and his students. <em>The Lesson of the Polish Cinema<\/em> by Andrzej Wajda, presents his perspective on Polish filmmaking since World War II. <em>Andrzej Wajda: Let&#8217;s shoot!<\/em> by Maciej Cuske, Thierry Paladino, Marcin Sauter, Piotr Stasik is a documentary on Wajda\u2019s filmmaking process created by his students.
