Israel’s heat, energy and wildly diverse ethnic mix come together in the best way in jazz and world music. International Exposure for Jazz and World Music presents outstanding jazz and world musicians in two of Midnight East’s favorite venues: Levontin 7 in Tel Aviv and the Yellow Submarine in Jerusalem, from November 16 – 19, 2011. Festival directors, artistic directors and producers – if you’re programming music, International Exposure is the ultimate guided tour through Israel’s happening music scene.

Guests will receive free entry to all performances, opportunities to network and four nights stay in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, compliments of the organizers. Sponsored by the Cultural and Scientific Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture and Sport, International Exposure for Jazz and World Music is directed by Barak Weiss. All inquiries regarding participation should be addressed to barak.weiss@gmail.com.

Israeli musicians interested in performing in International Exposure must apply by August 5, 2011. Here’s how:

Email: International Exposure Director Barak Weiss – barak.weiss@gmail.com – with the subject heading: Application – Musician/Band Name. The message should include a one page statement with the band’s bio and a description of the musical project you wish to present at International Exposure. Attach music files no larger than 8M or links for direct listening to selections that convey a sense of your music.

Snail mail: 4 copies of a one page statement including the band’s bio and a description of the musical project you wish to present at International Exposure; AND a recording of a few selections (CD, demo recording, studio recording) to give the artistic committee a sense of your music. Send to: The Yellow Submarine, 13 Erkevim Street, Jerusalem, Industrial Area, Talpiyot, 93462 Jerusalem. Please write “For International Exposure” on the envelope. The artistic committee regrets that materials cannot be returned.

An artistic committee will select the musicians to perform in International Exposure and decisions will be sent by September 10, 2011.

It’s a terrific opportunity for Israeli musicians and all those involved in music festivals and other music programs world wide – so come together, right now!
