Denise Jannah and Ramon Valle will open the Hot Jazz Series in September, with “To Dream, To Cry, To Fall in Love,” a Latin duet. Performances will take place in Jerusalem, Herzliya,Tel Aviv, and Haifa from September 5 – 10, 2011.

Born in Surinam and Cuba, respectively, Jannah and Valle live in Holland and perform internationally. They began working together a year ago, fusing jazz with Cuban rhythms and a Surinam sound, creating their own free style.

This will be their first joint performance in Israel, however, both musicians have performed in the Hot Jazz series. Valle was here with his trio last year, and Jannah several years ago; both were warmly received. Jannah sang a song in Hebrew at that performance – “Walk to Cesarea” (Eli, Eli) the poem by Hannah Senesh, with music by David Zahavi.

They will perform an evening of standards and originals, jazz with a Latin touch.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Zappa Herzliya, Doors open at 21:00, the performance will begin at 22:00.
Thursday, September 8, 2011, at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, at 21:00.
Friday, September 9, 2011, at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, at 21:30.
Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Beit Aba Hushi, Haifa, at 21:00.
