Boydem, an artistic project initiated by Yehezkel Lazarov and Bikurey HaItim Director Sigal Peretz presents works by leading Israeli artists in dance, film, photography, visual arts, video-art and theatre. The Boydem Arts Festival will take place during the Sukkot holiday, from October 2 – 4, at Bikurei Haitim, 6 Heftman Street, Tel Aviv, every evening from 20:00 – 23:00. Entrance is FREE and open to the public.

The participating artists open up their creative boydem (Yiddish for attic) to reveal those first works, some never before presented, some only seen by a small audience of friends and family. This new exposure offers an opportunity for dialogue between the past and present, a way of looking at the creative process with the perspective gained over time.

Boydem visitors will be able to see Eytan Fox’s pilot for the television series Florentine that was never broadcast, and works created by Adi Ness for his graduation exhibition at Bezalel. Dancer/choreographers Ido Tadmor, Iris Erez and Renana Raz will each perform the first solo they choreographed. Tomer Heymann will screen his first documentary film, made during his studies at Camera Obscura, and an ensemble of clarinets will perform one of composer Gil Shohat’s first works.

Artists whose work will be featured this year include: Sigalit Landau, Gil Shohat, Eytan Fox, Renana Raz, Adi Ness, Alona Kimhi, Tomer Heymann, Michal Bat Adam, Doron Rabina, Aggy Mishol, Ronit Ziv, Yuval Shaul, Roni Somekh, Lee Yinor, Ido Tadmor, Iris Erez, David Traktover, Zruya Shalev, Dana Levy, and Ran Selwin.
