Record Store Day was founded in 2007 by independent record store owners and artists to celebrate music and is currently managed by Michael Kurtz and Carrie Colliton, in coordination with Michael Bunnell and Eric Levin. The Record Store Day site has the complete list of RSD releases, as well as a list of participating stores – and yes! Israel is there too.

MusicaNeto (30 Ibn Gvirol St) in Tel Aviv first celebrated RSD on April 17, 2010. They will be continuing the tradition this year from 19:00 – 21:00 with special releases and discounts, and exciting live performances. Headlining will be Yehu Yaron, who will soon release his second album; more great music from Tzvika Force – just released his debut EP Petit Nature; Shani Kedar – recently released her second album; and The Great Machine – soon to release their first EP!

Viva Vinyl! The Ozen Bar (48 King George St) partied hard last year, and a fun time can be expected starting at noon on Saturday, with new releases and rare finds on display. Live shows: Zvuloon Dub System at 16:30 with songs from their new album Freedom Time in a special vinyl edition; and serious rockers Rockfour at 20:00 with songs from their latest album Too Many Organs out in vinyl too!

Kol Hacampus  will anchor in Port Said (5 Har Sinai St) for live broadcasts from the bar/restaurant which will host a music fair from 12:00 – 19:00.
