Winter Saturdays Rock at Beit Avi Chai

It’s going to be a hot winter in Jerusalem with Saturday night concerts at Beit Avi Chai – whether your feet speak Klezmer, groove, Balkan or Mizrahi, put on your dancing shoes because no one is sitting out these concerts! These will all be standing concerts, but a quick look at the amazing line-up – Balkan Bamachsan, Marsh Dondurma and Shmemel, just to name a few – indicates that stand = DANCE!!!!

Concerts will take place on Saturdays at 22:00, November thru February at Beit Avi Chai, 44 King George Street, Jerusalem, 02-621-5900. Tickets for each performance are a friendly 50 NIS (30 NIS for students), and include a free drink. Very friendly.

November 12, 2011 Balkan Bamachsan – let the gypsy spirit invade your soul!

November 19, 2011 Boom Pam – Oriental surf rock will get you moving!

November 26, 2011 Riff Cohen – Paris meets Tunisia in an urban – oriental mood.

December 3, 2011 Boogie Balagan – international performance psychedelic rock & Middle Eastern arabesques.

December 10, 2011 Marsh Dondurma – the 15 member Jerusalem brass band is likely to have the entire citydancing by the time the night is through!

December 17, 2011 The Groovatron – Eretz Israel meets groove, in a Hebrew happening that brings the Hora back to center stage!

December 24, 2011 Shmemel – Come one, come all to Hannah Zelda’s traditional latke party, a special Hannukah performance from the big band that will have you dancing with ancestral fervor to their crazy Hassidic groove.


December 31, 2011 Daniel Zamir – Jewish roots music meets jazz, world music and Klezmer, with an Israeli touch.
