THURSDAY, May 27th

17:00 Film-Presentation, Hall 1
Footage of Israeli fashion and a documentary film about Maskit with Ruth Dayan, directed by Dinah Zvi Riklis.
The film will be presented in honor of Ruth Dayan, an activist of women’s empowerment, who founded Maskit, a fashion house which exposes the talents of underprivileged women and returns earnings directly to women who work in it.

19:30  Opening Hall 1 Prof. Yaara Bar-On, Deputy President for Academic Affairs of the Bezalel Academy of Arts will open the event and present a life-achievement award to Ruth Dayan for the empowerment of women through fashion. Remarks by Einat Leader, Head of Jewelry & Fashion Department of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. Footage on the fashion house Maskit from a documentary film about Maskit with Ruth Dayan.

12:00 Film-Introduction, Hall 3,  Israel-Episode of “Fashion and People”/ „Tous les habits du monde“.  26 minutes English subtitles Show me what you wear, so I tell you who you are! The series “Tous les habits du monde” attends to clothing traditions from all over the world. The presented episode deals with Jewish-orthodox dresses, IDF-apparel and other facets of Israeli clothing. TV-Production directed by Yael Bitton, ARTE, 2008.

21:00 Film-Introduction, Hall 1, Pictures and clips by fashion bloggers  from all over the world, 15 minutes.

 4th panel discussion, Hall 1, “Style blogs – the democratization of fashion?”. The movement began someday in the early noughties – and changed fashion media fundamentally. People took their camera, went out on the streets, discovered styles and presented them on their blogs. In the last years the number of fashionblogs increased in the same way as the number of recipients did. “Classical” fashion media like Vogue or Haper’s Bazaar integrated blogs on their pages. Time to ask bloggers about their work and point of view in fashion.
