Zadik Gallery will host a gallery talk with artist Dvora Morag about her current exhibition By the Meter. The talk will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 at 16 Shimon HaZadik Street in Jaffa (near the flea market). The event will include a recital with Sara Fintling Morag, first flutist of the Be’er Sheva Orchestra.

Zadik – Art Within Reach describes Morag’s unusual exhibit:

A single painting, 22 meters long, fills the exhibition. It was laboriously created by Dvora Morag over a period of eight years. Under the lines pacing the space, depth of field and perspective, emerges a house the size of a room which Morag stores in her heart. Morag measures the room’s perimeter through Sisyphean work on pillows, kitchen sink, vase and library. The process engraves the house’s memory on canvas and walls. Slices of the painting will be sold by the meter.
