Bezalel Hosts Dennis Weil, McDonald’s VP of Innovation and Concept Development

Dennis Weil, Vice President of Innovation and Concept Development at McDonald’s Corp will be the guest of the Masters Program in Industrial Design at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design Jerusalem. Weil will present “Better not just Bigger: How McDonald’s is leveraging Design to reclaim its modernity” on March 23, 2011 in Tel Aviv at the First International Bank of Israel and on March 24, 2011 at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design Jerusalem, Mount Scopus Campus.

Weil is the master-mind of the McDonald’s makeover – taking the fast food empire into a new era of consumer experience through design concepts. Before joining McDonald’s in 2001, Swiss-born Weil’s impressive CV includes Proctor & Gamble, Hugo Boss, E-Commerce, and a master’s degree in design planning from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The Design Management Department in the M.Des. Program at Bezalel, currently in its 6th year, has a diverse faculty of researchers, leading designers, business managers and entrepreneurs. Training students in theoretical and practical aspects of design from different perspectives, ranging in scale from large corporations to the management of a private studio, and the use of design as a business strategy, the department is a leading center of research and information in this fast-growing field.

March 23, 2011, First International Bank of Israel, 43 Rothschild Boulevard. The event will begin with a reception at 18:00, followed by introductory remarks by Prof. Ezri Tarazi, Head of the M.Des. Program at Bezalel. Dennis Weil will speak at 19:10, followed by an academic panel discussion.

March 24, 2011, Dennis Weil will lecture at 13:00, at the Bezalel, Mount Scopus Campus, Auditorium 222 on the 8th floor. The event is free and open to the public.
