Actor Yossi Garber will be honored with a lifetime achievement award, and actor Shimon Lev Ari will receive a prize for his contribution to the Israeli theatre. 61 members of the academy have spent many nights at the theatre. There are two rounds of voting for the prizes: in the first round, four nominees are chosen in 19 different categories; in the second round, the members of the academy select a winner from these four, and vote for “Play of the Year.”

The Cameri Theatre leads with the largest number of nominations, followed by Beit Lessin and Beer Sheva. Habima Theatre pulled out of the competition this year, due to their move to the newly renovated building and touring obligations.
