Grab your couches and sit tight, a wave of nostalgia is coming your way! IBA Channel 1 will be broadcasting the semi-finals of the 57th Eurovision Song Contest live from Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 22:00. Alt-rock band Izabo will be doing the honors for Israel with their song Time.

But first – indulge in some memories from the past on Monday, May 21st at 21:45 with a program of Eurovision Classics in new symphonic arrangements. Relive the historic moment when Israel first participated in the song contest with the lovely Ilanit singing “Ey Sham;” jump up and cheer as Izhar Cohen performs “Abanibi,” the first Israeli song to win the competition; and celebrate with Dana International’s “Diva” – the 1998 Eurovision winner is one of the ten most popular Eurovision songs of all times!

Let’s not forget the immortal “Tu Te Reconnaitras,” “Eres Tu,” “Waterloo,” and many more – all in new arrangements.

42 countries will participate in the 2012 contest, with the semi-finals divided into two programs: on Tuesday, May 22nd and Thursday, May 24th and the 20 countries with the highest scores will participate in the finals on Saturday, May 26th at 22:00 – all broadcast live on Channel 1.
