Songwriter- Chanteur Charles Aznavour is slated to perform in Israel for the first time, in a one-off performance on November 23, 2013 at Nokia Arena. Born in Paris of Armenian descent, Aznavour may well sing of Les Bons Moments.

In a career that has spanned 70 years, he has composed over 1,000 songs, toured with Edith Piaf, sung with Frank Sinatra, and his songs have been recorded by artists as diverse as Andrea Bocelli and Ray Charles. Alongside his musical career, Aznavour has been an activist for peace. He was appointed Ambassador of Armenia to Switzerland in 2009 and Armenia’s permanent delegate to the United Nations. Aznavour wishes to dedicate his performance in Israel to promoting the peace process through public awareness.

Aznavour was named Entertainer of the Century by CNN in 1998, coming out ahead of Bob Dylan. Dylan, for his part, joins in the worldwide admiration of Aznavour: in a concert at Madison Square Garden the same year, Dylan performed a cover of Aznavour’s Les Bons Moments (The Times We’ve Known).

Until November, enjoy Aznavour online, tickets for Aznavour’s concert will be available through Eventim *9066.
