Every once in a while it’s fun to take on the impossible and make it happen. The 48 Hour Film Project is that kind of experience: participating film teams have 48 hours in which to write, shoot, edit and score a film. Sounds like a huge adrenaline rush! Going strong in over 100 cities internationally, Israel is on the 48 Hour map this year, organized by Green Productions.

The tired but happy (I hope) Israeli teams turned in their films on Friday, June 20th and they will be screened at the Jerusalem Cinematheque on June 25th, 26th and 29th in batches of 10. There will be an additional screening of the top picks on July 19th. Tickets for each screening are just 25 NIS, more details and purchasing via this link.

To get them going, the teams are always assigned a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue; all are required elements of the film. Israeli teams received: Aviv or Abigail Dvorkin, gardener (character); a flag (prop); and “I didn’t know you’d be so good at this” (line). Come and see what they did with this intriguing start!
