Just in time for a summer night in June, Ron & the Red Beans have come out with a sexy, swing cover of Camila Cabello’s Havana! Bringing a sunny, brassy feel and playful verve to the Latin rhythms of the song, Ron & the Red Beans make you want to kick up your heels and dance! Evoking the feel of New Orleans, where different music traditions met and merged, creating something bold and new, the band swings with old time elegance and seductive heat. You can feel their vivacious energy and warm rapport, as they take the song for a jazzy spin. Josette Wiggan is mesmerizing, music and movement are one as she dances. Even if half your heart is in Havana, Ron & the Red Beans are sure to steal the other half with this flirty and fun cover!
Ron & the Red Beans are: Ron Freund – guitar, vocals, and tap; Josette Wiggan – tap; Roy Bar Yehuda – saxophone; Ziv Grinberg – double bass; Yuval Shapiro – trumpet; Rani Birenbaum – drums; Moriel Hoffman – piano. Ron Freund, dancer and former Mayumana member, founded Ron & the Red Beans in 2013 when he returned to Israel after a few years of performing as a dancer in New Orleans and New York. It was there he met Josette Wiggan, formerly of the Cirque du Soleil, and the two became partners in music and life. Ron & the Red Beans have performed at Herrang Dance Camp in Sweden, the Tel Aviv Blues Festival, the Desert Stomp swing festival in Mitzpe Ramon and 4th of July celebrations at the U.S. Embassy in Israel.
