Batsheva Dancers Create is a free, online festival presented by the Batsheva Dance Company and Batsheva – The Young Ensemble from May 15 – 24, 2020. The “Batsheva Dancers Create” workshops provide an opportunity for the companies’ dancers to create independent, original works and express their creative persona. In light of the current pandemic, the decision was made to produce an 8-day online festival, with works by members of both companies, with new content presented every day, that will include broadcasts of dance videos, life events, and gallery works – all created for the digital platform. The works will be available on the Batsheva Creates website, and viewing will be free.
28 dancers will take part in the festival: Matan Cohen, Luc Jacobs, Yarden Bareket, Kyle Scheurich, Yoni Simon and Avigail Shafrir, Imre van Opstal, Alma Karvat Shemesh, Shaked Werner, Igor Ptashenchuk, Ohad Mazor, Guy Davidson, Etay Axelroad, César Bordermann, Eri Nakamura, Nitzan Ressler, Maayan Sheinfeld, Roni Milatin, Chung Woong Kim, Reches Itzhaki, Hani Sirkis, Federico Longo, Tom Nissim, Amalia Smith, Danai Porat, Gianni Notarnicola, and Gil Amishai.
