The Vertigo Eco Art Village will host a three-day dance festival with activities for all ages, from October 8 – 10, 2025. The festival celebrates culture in nature, the connection between our bodies and the earth, movement and community, creating and breathing. Events include dance premieres, activities for children, movement and music, as well as local wines, boutique beers and taboon baked pizza.

Artistic Director of the Eco Art Village Sigal Roth stated, “The war has shadowed our lives for two years now, entering our bodies and spirit, the festival is an invitation to gather together – to move, create, and breathe in a compassionate space of dance, music, and nature.”

Among the events are:

Mesik Guf/Photo: Juan Carlos Toledo

“Mesik Guf” (Body Harvest) – premiere by Sharon Friedman for ages 6 – 12, and families. Walking among five stations, with movement and sound experience at each, the work concludes in a group picnic in nature.

Islands in the Stream/Photo: Elad Debi

The Vertigo Power of Balance Ensemble presents the premiere of “Islands in the Stream” by Inbal Aloni. Aloni’s work is a human encounter in dance and music, islands of physical happenings revealing delicacy and aesthetics, even when these are complex. The evening’s program will include a duet choreographed by Dafi Altabeb, Make a Poem.

Movement in Nature – a workshop led by Rina Wertheim Koren invites participants to experience the movement language of Vertigo, at sunset, in the beautiful landscape of the Elah Valley, at the Eco Art Village. The workshop is suitable for anyone who wishes to explore through movement.

A new work by Noa Wertheim will be presented in pre-premiere, performed by the Vertigo dancers.

Passion is a Lonely Hunter/Photo: Asya Skorik

A work by choreographer Michael Getman, “Passion is a Lonely Hunter” explores the mutual connection between movement, language, and thought. Getman describes the work: Language often falters before the complexity of our experience, pointing to what is missing, brushing against the shadow of an absent thing it represents. Like hunters, we track the footprints left behind by what has already vanished. Passion is a lonely hunter pursuing a meaning for the unnamed. A chase of that which resists all possible symbolization. Perhaps, in the end, only the hunt remains.
