The Vertigo Dance Company will premiere Nona, a new work choreographed by Noa Wertheim and Rina Wertheim-Koren. Premiere performances will take place at the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv, on December 22 and 23, 2025, and during the months of January and February throughout the country in Herzliya, Ganei Tikva, Hof HaCarmel, Jerusalem, Karmiel, Ein Hashofet and Yavneh.

There is a sensuous physicality to Nona, a work that revolves around time, a concept that is at once abstract, and yet entirely present in our lives. I had the opportunity to view excerpts from Nona – it is utterly captivating, and the dancers are amazing.
Noa Wertheim commented on her joint work with Rina Wertheim-Koren: “Extreme events such as those that we experienced in the past few years lead us to question – how should we live our time and what is presence within a changing reality?
Nona is a work about time, but also an invitation to stop, to listen, to move. To understand that time escapes us, but it is also the one thing that is in our hands. Like a slender thread that can be pulled, unraveled, and woven together anew, time and again.”

Ran Bagno composed original music for Nona, Sasson Kedem created the costumes, with set design by Zohar Shoaf, and lighting design by Nadav Barnea. The name Nona is a reference to one of the three Parcae of Roman mythology, referred to in English as the three fates, the personification of destiny. Nona, whose name means nine, spins the thread of life, while Decima measures out a person’s life span, and Morta cuts the thread. The dance work Nona emerged from thoughts on whether time moves through us, or we move through time, and grew into a work that explores the layers of time that accumulate in our bodies and memories, and the ways in which our culture affects our experience of time. The choreographic space moves between individuals and the group, creating a dialogue between linear time that is always rushing forward, and circular time that returns time and again, endlessly.
