Suzanne Dellal Centre in cooperation with the French Institute in Tel Aviv will present “French Focus” – a week of French Dance from December 12 – 18, 2011. Hip hop artist Brahim Bouchelaghem and the Zahrbat Company will present his latest work Davaï Davaï. Bouchelaghem, who did not study dance formally, was discovered by Farid Berki and then went on to perform with the Accrorap Dance Company led by Kader Attou (Tel Aviv Dance 2010). The name of this new work means “forward, forward.” Performed by an ensemble of nine French and Russian dancers (the Russian Hip Hop group Top 9), Davaï Davaï employs the language of Hip Hop and materials from the lives of the dancers to express emotion, experience and memory. Davaï Davaï will be performed on December 12, 2011 at 21:00, Suzanne Dellal Centre, Tel Aviv.
