Shining a light in the darkness for youth at risk, a benefit concert will take place at The Barby on March 9, 2013 to support Migdalor Hashomer, a youth center in Petach Tikvah. Haifa International Festival for Children’s Theatre 2013 will take place from March 27 – 29, 2013 with a colorful, wonderfully diverse program to enthrall audiences of all ages! Six original Israeli plays for children will premiere at the festival, as well as many guest performances. Throughout the three days of the festival, there will be outdoor performances by international troupes – all open to the public free of charge!

A new production of The Vagina Monologues, Eve Ensler’s ground-breaking play, will be presented at the at the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center. The all volunteer production, a collaborative effort of 16 women, will support the Jerusalem Rape Crisis Center, with all proceeds donated to the center. The performances will be in English.

Purim is coming – it’s time to be a kid again! The Holon Adloyada – the traditional Purim Parade, will take a trip to toyland with this year’s theme: Toy Symphony. The parade will take place on February 24, 2013 beginning at 12:00 The Adloyada will march along Sokolov Street and end at Weizmann, corner of Leon Blum Street. The fun will begin an hour before the parade, at 11:00, with street performances along the route.

Celebrate Yiddish culture! The National Council for Yiddish Culture is renewing their activities following a 6 year hiatus, working to preserve, nurture and promote Yiddish culture. Their first event will be a literary musical evening at the Jerusalem Book Fair 2013 on Wednesday, February 13th at 18:00, Binyanei Hauma, Convention Center. Admission to the event is free.
